Galena STEM Components
There are four components to the STEM program:

Completion of Four Years of STEM
Students who complete all four years of the STEM program—along with an honors diploma, four years of math, and four years of science—qualify to wear the Galena STEM cord at graduation. -
Nevada State STEM and STEAM Seals
These seals are awarded to students who meet the state requirements. The seals are affixed to their Galena High School diplomas. Learn more about the requirements on the Nevada Department of Education website. -
College Credit
During their sophomore year, students take the State Workplace Readiness exam. Successful completion can earn them college credit at TMCC (Truckee Meadows Community College). Learn more and apply for credit at TMCC. -
CTE Diploma Endorsement Under Nevada law, any student who successfully completes a program of career and technical education and meets the state’s graduation requirements is awarded a CTE endorsement on their high school diploma. How Students Qualify:
- The end-of-program technical assessment, and

The workplace readiness assessment

Once these requirements are met, the student earns a Certificate of Skill Attainment, which qualifies them for the CTE endorsement on their diploma.
